The literal translation of “renouveau” is renewal, or a revival of something as it becomes popular again. This is the inspiration for Renouveau Antiques, a direct importer of fine European antiques. Owned and operated by Houston native Ashley Radack, Renouveau Antiques is new to Market Hill, but Ashley has been coming to Round Top for 20 years and selling here for six years, after she began importing in early 2014.
“Round Top is a magical place where buyers and dealers come from all over the world. It is rare if you see someone not smiling or laughing,” she says.
“My clients are the joy of my job. I specifically think of them when I am in Europe shopping. They appreciate being unique, just like the pieces I sell.”
Ashley has a passion for the process, traveling all across France many times a year to handpick each piece, chosen for its unique beauty and historical significance. What she loves most about her work is “the treasure hunt of finding that one-of-a-kind unique antique for my client.”

When it comes to finding that specific piece for a specific client she says, “I think this comes from experience. One of my gifts is being able to read my client and their taste and style.” As for her own style, she describes it as “dramatic mixed with simple with an emphasis on 17th- and 18th-century French and Italian antiques.” And she promises to bring the drama to Market Hill.
“As usual, I have a ton of one-of-a-kind pieces. I tend to lean towards the romantic and dramatic.”
When asked to share a few of her favorites, she says, “All of them! I wish I could be more specific, but I truly love all my pieces.”
