“I have been coming to Round Top for as long as I can remember. As a young girl, my mother always brought me along to hunt beautiful antiques and one-of-a-kind pieces. Round Top embodies the ultimate ‘thrill of the hunt.’ And, you are always guaranteed to meet talented, creative artists who often become great friends.”

When we ask what’s new about her business, she says, “This year, we have taken on several young families as clients. They have infused some more color and excitement into our aesthetic. However, we are always careful to remember that trendy is the last stop before tacky.”

This is a fun part of the job; showing clients how even the most unusual piece can work in the most beautiful way.

“Our ideal client is someone who likes beautiful, fine things but always allows us the creative freedom to add elements of surprise. We start with one-of-a-kind, antique pieces and then integrate eclectic, unique elements that one would not expect in that type of environment. Our clients give us a lot of freedom; we have numerous clients who we have worked with for years and designed several of their homes.

“Sometimes the most unusual piece may fit a client very well, although it is a piece at first sight they would have never considered. This is a fun part of the job; showing clients how even the most unusual piece can work in the most beautiful way.” She adds, “We love to find old architectural pieces that we build into client homes. Old antique shutters into cabinet doors, architectural frames into mirrors, etc. We love using unusual elements in a non-traditional way.”

“We have a very fun client currently who loves a modern aesthetic with lots of bright pops of color. We found an artist to make neon acrylic mirrors and are bringing some of these mirrors to the show. We love mixing neon and acrylic with antiques.”
