Kolhoff’s background in furniture design—working with major manufacturers and studying antique forms—laid the foundation for his philosophy: that furniture is art. “I look at furniture as art with function,” he explained. “You surround yourself with it, and it should be as aesthetically pleasing as it is comfortable and functional.”
